Despite challenging times, Claygate’s shops and businesses continue to thrive. Over the past few months, we have welcomed several new arrivals on The Parade, including The Fruit Machine, The Little Haberdashery and Doggy Styling.
Earlier this year, the Claygate Business Survey, sponsored by the Parish Council, highlighted strong support for collaboration, alongside practical measures to boost footfall and raise the profile of local shops and services.
At a well-attended Business Event held at The Hare and Hounds in March, attendees discussed a range of ideas, including producing a Village Map, running a social media drive to promote Claygate as a destination, and setting up a Claygate Business WhatsApp group.
Work is now underway to take these initiatives forward, with potential funding sources and options for establishing a Claygate Business Collective currently being explored.
