Could You Help Shape the Future of Claygate?

Claygate Parish Council is looking for two new Parish Councillors.

We currently have two vacancies on the Parish Council and would love to hear from residents who are interested in getting involved in local community life.

The vacancies will be filled by co-option at the Parish Council meeting on 24 September 2026. Successful applicants will serve as Parish Councillors until the next scheduled Parish Council elections in May 2027. It would be hoped that they will then stand for a regular term of office.

What does a Parish Councillor do?

Parish Councillors play an important role in representing local residents and helping to make decisions that affect the village. It’s a rewarding opportunity to have a voice in local matters, support community projects, and help ensure that Claygate remains a great place to live, work and visit.

You do not need any previous experience, just an interest in your community, a willingness to listen to residents, and enthusiasm for contributing to local decision-making.

Interested in applying?

To be eligible, you must be at least 18 years old and meet the relevant qualification criteria. Full details can be found in the vacancy notice below.

If you would like to apply please complete the application form below or find out more, please contact the Parish Clerk.
